Mixed Christmas Food Spots

Snackers Tubs
These generously sized tubs come in three varieties: hula hoops (salted), discos (salt and vinegar), nik naks (spicy) or wheat crunchies (cheesy).  They contain individualised selections of crisps and are made by the company that makes.  Ideal for a savoury snack over the festive period, including parties.  It is a nice idea to include a selection of snacks in one and does remind me of a favourite crisp product sold in Marks and Spencer in bags. They are generous 250g tubs and available in all of the major supermarkets.

Aldi Christmas Chutney
Aldi's Christmas food selection is especially good this year. Much more in the way of sweet gifts and biscuits, some new antipasti and savoury offerings.  Amongst the festive fayre, is this this delicious chutney.  It has all of the warming flavours of Christmas in a jar and is very fruity.  The combination of plum and orange works really well.  The orange is subtle.  The chutney would be fantastic with crackers and cheese, bread sticks, cheese straws and other such nibbles.  Not to forget a turkey sandwich!  I really love chutneys and sauces and this one from Aldi offers a perfect balance of sweetness and tangy sourness- full of flavour and just lovely.

Tesco Winter Fruit Cake

Not everyone is such a fan of Christmas cake.  This steamed pudding has the look and similarities to a Christmas pudding and still contains the flavours of Christmas.  It contains no alcohol or the dried fruit that is normally found in the traditional Christmas pudding.  It is as a result much lighter.  It is a self saucing pudding and comes in lovely shiny red packaging.  It is very festive with the blend of Christmassy inspired spices present in the sauce, such as cinammon and clove.  The fruit sauce is ever so slightly tangy and includes the flavours of red fruits, apple and orange.

Cadbury Christmas Gateaux
This delightful chocolate cake caught my eye in Tesco. It is a yummy generously sized Cadbury chocolate cake with white chocolate icing and decorated with chocolate stars. It is really delicious, rich and chocolatey- fairly sweet and a little does go a long way.  The sponge itself is full of chocolate flavour and lovely and light. You often find that store bought chocolate sponges can be quite dense, however that certainly wasn't the case with this product.

Tesco's Festively Shaped Tortilla Chips

A unique product and an ideal savoury snack.  These festively shaped tortilla chips come in the usual flavours of ready salted, sour cream and chive and also cool.  The crisps themselves are tasty, crunchy and full of flavour.  I have tried the ready salted holly leave shaped ones.  The cute shapes really appealed to me and drew my attention.

Cooperative Reindeer Sweets
Priced at 99p a box, these fun sweets make an excellent stocking filler.  Their cute design in a pale blue and snowy packaging is certainly very festive.  They come in a choice between Reindeer Noses and Reindeer Droppings.  The Droppings are milk chocolate coated raisins.  The noses are red chocolate and candy coated malty balls.

Morrisons Reindeer Christmas Bread

This years festive bread offerings from Morrisons includes, this delightful Rudolf reindeer bread complete with red nose cherry!  It is an orange and chocolate chip sweet bread.  It has nibbed sugar on the antlers and makes for a unique bread.  Perfect for Christmas Eve and even Christmas day breakfast.  Having tried the bread previously, I found it to be delicious.  Lovely warm or as it is, full of flavour, moist and full of huge chunks of chocolate.
